Emerging Best Practices
This section will include only rigorously reviewed material. Here, we want to model looking carefully at studies and critiquing the 'flim flam' that so often emerges in counseling and related helping professions as well as in the general marketplace of 'remedies' for problems of everyday living. Invited reviewers will present best practices briefs and critiques of the guidance curriculum and the training and professional development marketplaces.
To keep things organized, we will start with a focus on three areas.
First, we will watch closely for emerging data and analyses of Individual Student Planning Conferences.
Second, we will pay close attention to data and analyses of Group Work in Academic Development.
In the third area, The National Standards and AB 1802, we will work with best practices in the context of the ASCA National Standards and National Model and will look for data and data analyses that link the National Standards' student competencies with counseling interventions grounded in the Academic Development needs of students.
